I’ve heard a lot of great things about this book so I figured I’d give it a try. This is my second read by Ali Hazelwood and I really enjoy her writing style. She has a great sense of humor in her writing that I’ve found quirky and weird and I just really enjoy it. For example (spoiler alert), this is the prologue to the book. I found it funny, not sure if others will find it funny but for context, she’s a vampyre marrying an alpha werewolf in efforts to bring peace between their two species.
The wedding is really tense, everyone’s on their guard essentially ready to kill each other. She reaches the altar and he essentially lunges at her and is repulsed by her smell. Major “wtf is even happening right now” moment. 😆
Anyways, these are my first impressions of the book so far. Very entertaining, I’m already around 50 pages in but I won’t spoil it anymore for those looking to read it. Will it be the next Twilight? Doubtful and I pray they don’t turn it into a movie. I actually really did enjoy the Twilight books, but the movies absolutely butchered the story, which made it iconic because they were so bad they were good? Anyways, I’m getting way off track. Review of this book coming soon in the Book Nook of the Cottage section of my website.
Has anyone else read this book? What were your thoughts?
